Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) explains the rules for using the PLE mobile application (“App”) and related services provided by Permanent Lighting Experts LLC (“Permanent Lighting Experts,” “PLE,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

This Policy is incorporated into the PLE Terms of Use and applies to every user of the App.

Our goal is simple: provide a safe, reliable, and secure platform for customers, dealers, installers, technicians, distributors, employees, and other authorized users.

1. Lawful Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with all applicable federal, state, local, and international laws and regulations.

You may not use the App in any way that violates the rights of another person or organization.

2. Authorized Use

You may use the App only as intended.

Examples of acceptable use include:

  • Managing lighting systems
  • Registering products
  • Viewing warranty information
  • Scheduling installations
  • Managing customer information
  • Uploading installation documentation
  • Receiving notifications
  • Accessing authorized dealer resources
  • Using features specifically provided within the App

3. Prohibited Activities

You may not use the App to:

  • Commit fraud
  • Misrepresent your identity
  • Impersonate another person or business
  • Create fake accounts
  • Access another user’s account without authorization
  • Circumvent authentication or security measures
  • Attempt unauthorized access to our servers
  • Scan or probe our systems for vulnerabilities
  • Interfere with the operation of the App
  • Launch denial-of-service attacks
  • Introduce viruses, malware, ransomware, spyware, or other malicious code
  • Use bots or automated tools to scrape data without permission
  • Attempt to gain elevated privileges
  • Distribute spam through the App
  • Upload illegal content
  • Harass or threaten other users
  • Use the App for unlawful activities
  • Use the App in any manner that could damage Permanent Lighting Experts LLC or its users

4. Reverse Engineering

Unless expressly permitted by applicable law, you may not:

  • Reverse engineer
  • Decompile
  • Disassemble
  • Modify
  • Adapt
  • Decode
  • Attempt to obtain source code
  • Circumvent security protections
  • Create derivative works

of any portion of the App.

5. User Content

You are responsible for everything you upload.

You agree not to upload:

  • Content you do not own or have permission to use
  • Copyrighted material without authorization
  • Offensive material
  • Defamatory content
  • Fraudulent information
  • Malware
  • Viruses
  • Harmful software
  • Illegal content
  • Sensitive information that you are not authorized to share

6. Customer Information

Many users of the App work with customer information.

You agree to use customer information responsibly and only for legitimate business purposes.

You may not:

  • Share customer information without authorization
  • Sell customer information
  • Export customer lists for unauthorized purposes
  • Access customer records you are not authorized to view

7. Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your account.

You agree to:

  • Choose a strong password
  • Keep login credentials confidential
  • Not share your account
  • Notify us immediately if your account is compromised

You remain responsible for activity occurring under your account unless you promptly report unauthorized access.

8. Fair Use of Services

The App is designed for normal business and customer use.

You may not intentionally consume excessive resources that negatively affect other users, including:

  • Automated requests
  • Excessive API usage (if APIs are made available)
  • Mass uploads intended to disrupt service
  • Repeated abusive actions

9. Intellectual Property

You may not:

  • Copy the App
  • Copy software
  • Copy graphics
  • Copy documentation
  • Copy branding
  • Remove trademarks
  • Remove copyright notices
  • Represent PLE branding as your own

All intellectual property remains the property of Permanent Lighting Experts LLC.

10. Reporting Security Issues

If you believe you have discovered a security vulnerability within the App, please notify us immediately.

Please do not publicly disclose security vulnerabilities until Permanent Lighting Experts LLC has had a reasonable opportunity to investigate and address the issue.

11. Enforcement

Violation of this Policy may result in one or more of the following actions:

  • Warning
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent account suspension
  • Removal of uploaded content
  • Restriction of certain App features
  • Termination of your account
  • Legal action where appropriate

Permanent Lighting Experts LLC reserves the right to investigate suspected violations.

12. No Expectation of Anonymous Use

For security, fraud prevention, warranty management, and customer support, activity within the App may be logged.

Examples include:

  • Login activity
  • Device information
  • Account changes
  • Installation updates
  • Warranty submissions
  • Administrative actions

These logs help maintain the security and reliability of the App.

13. Changes to this Policy

Permanent Lighting Experts LLC may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time.

Updated versions become effective immediately upon posting with a revised Effective Date.

Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
